Project: Lagoon 42 Catamaran Transom Solar Arch (280 inches)
Solution: A custom, wide-span solar arch utilizing dual MSD-370 solar arch and davit systems. The installation required four extensions, two extra solar bridges, four custom lower mounts, and two custom roof-to-davit rail mounts to meet the specific 280-inch requirement.
Project: Custom Davit Crane for Stevens Institute of Technology Marine Biology Department
Objective: Design and fabricate a specialized davit crane for lifting equipment from the ocean floor, meeting specific operational requirements: 360-degree rotation, a 40-inch boom reach, sufficient mast height to clear the gunwale, and easy removal for storage. The davit crane also needed secure attachment points on both the boat’s gunwale and deck.
Solution Details:
360-Degree Rotation: Achieved using custom-designed gunwale mounts featuring UHMW inserts and a corresponding socket base for smooth pivoting.
Ease of Removal: The boom connects to the gusset via two ½-inch clevis pins with retaining rings. The entire mast assembly lifts vertically out of the socket base and gunwale mount.
Winch Integration: Designed with a reinforced plate on top of the gusset to accept a customer-supplied winch.
Project: Custom Dinghy Rack for Jeanneau 1095 (Swim Platform Mount)
Requirement: Design a rack to stow a dinghy on a swim platform, straddling outboard motors and incorporating a separate outboard motor mount.
Solution: Designed a custom stainless steel rack with a 15-degree aft tilt to place the dinghy over the outboards. The design integrates a reinforced motor mounting location and optimizes space utilization on the swim platform.
Project: Removable Davit System for Large Power Boat Swim Platform
Requirement: Customer needed a robust davit system that could be completely removed when not in use, leaving minimal hardware on deck.
Solution: Designed and fabricated a mounting system featuring flush-mounted recessed deck sockets and stabilizing rear support arms. The davits lift out easily, ensuring the swim platform remains clear of obstructions.
